Q.Emily Asks ; How yoga can help shape and tune a body to its perfection.
A.Masso Answers; Emily , first we must develop an impression of what perfection for body form is.
I m convinced that yoga can help in radical body shaping and fine tuning bodies that are already in good shape.
I look and listen carefully, get a clear vision then suggest, design a set of exercises to achieve just that vision.
I have been looking forward to interact with a muscular woman to fine tune all possible muscles to not only to definition but to a feminine artistic form as well.
I have seen women doing interesting things with their bodies. Creating beautifully lined forms. Even facial muscles can be reformed. (Lion Pose).
As a former dancer and yoga practitioner I have developed a unique method to envision, set up goals and work on developing just the type of body and form one desires. I use a uniquely developed mind/body practice that focuses on higher resolutions on men and muscle elongation vs. bulk in women.
I have noticed that strength has more quality if the muscles are elongated rather than bulked.
But achieving elongated set of muscles is a very serious task, some say painful, that deserves a faithful discipline.
So far, I have seen few practitioners that have walked that path and results are stunning. Everything is possible.
Mostly my dancer friends who have discovered the potential and are at awe of their own bodies. They wanted to see how much more they can perfect it, have gotten into serious practice to see better results more and more encouraged by incredible shape they can get into while doing yoga or dance poses.
If this seems interesting to you let me know and I can give you more info later.
Q.Anna Asks; I have noticed my body changes doing yoga. Lower back pain I was sufferring during a fall is almost entirely gone and I feel more flexible and at ease overall. Before I was told I need surgery..!
Can anyone describe the phenomena or let me know if this improvments are temporary or yoga can heal injuries permanently ?
A.Masso Answers; Long practice of Yoga, definitely changes body form at any age and finely shapes bones. I will not be surprized if your ailments are completely healed after doing reasonable amount of yoga.
In my own case , yoga has helped more than all past physical therapies I have received. Extreme body positions formed doing yoga poses can eventually form bones, wrap muscles and set up more space for nerves that comfortably move around narrowed confines, relieving pressures due to deformities caused by injuries. Long yoga practice also will increase bone density while reducing its size, again adding to the space for nerves to pass without much difficulty. Nerves relieved from under such pressures will in turn grow thicker and healthier, serving body much more effectively with reduced and or no pain.
Anna, I believe your improvements are permanent and as soon as you feel any discomfort you will do more yoga anyway.. bliss.
Q.Sarah Asks; Body Shaping through yoga .. hmm very interesting. I would like to ask about breasts, my own actually. I am 23 and never had kids, recently I notice that my nipples are not looking upwards as much as it used to. What next? I will be really unhappy if my breasts start sagging down to my middle.
Do you have a method to keep breasts healthy and full in any shape and size for life.
A.Masso Answers; Sarah , I understand.. I have been told and seen breasts that have lost their perkiness regardless of age or pregnancy.
I must say overall health can contribute to elasticity of skin tissues everywhere in the body and help retain fullness of breasts.
Smoking, repeated weight gain and loss and poor nutrition is said to be the main cause of loss of skin elasticity. Breast feeding is no longer considered a major cause though some discussions still continue.
Above is an informative discussion board on this issue. Inclined bench press is recommended to firm up muscles that support breasts. Swimminmg can firm up breasts by reinforcing and creating supporting muscles. Yoga can help out by body shaping and studying the effects of different poses including Bandhas.
I am working with Abbey and we are studying the sun salutes and other upper body poses in restoring desirable breast form.
We will publish the results as soon as we see changes.
Finally and personally, I must address the issue from its cultural angle. In some western cultures the breast size seems to be as important for women as penis size is for men. Young women resort to any possible method to enlarge their sizes including stuffing their body with silicon, gaining unhealthy amount of weight and having exessesive hormon therapy.
I strongly recommend against these methods. Shape is more important than size and one should find natural ways to maintain healthy shape regardless of size. As we grow older , all these remedies may seem like a burden. I often seen older women taking out the implants , reducing their breast size so they can have an active life that can make one happy from indside out.
I would love to hear from all of you regarding this topic.
Q. Norma Asks; What kind of information you have regarding pregnancy and yoga?
A. Masso Answers; Pre Natal Yoga practices are very common and recommended. However we seldom hear about post natal exercises.
Main thing is to re educate body right after child birth.
In Europe returning mothers to their pre pregnancy shape (called, re education) post pregnancy is as important as pre-natal care and fully covered by government supported healthcare system. Women should not consider their health or youthful shape a lost case after giving life to another human and try to restore ASAP..
Re education not only will help body return to its original shape from outside, but it will also help regain health from inside out which is where skin elasticity, hair quality and breast form are sustained. Women should start re education process immediately after birthing. I have some more information regarding European re education methods and can submit per request.
Remedies; Re adoptation of pre pregnancy diet is very important as well as exercises that target areas that pregnancy has altered.
